Sarah MacKinnon is a multi-disciplinary artist from Los Angeles currently living in Athens. Her practice is focused on painting but spans multiple mediums, and is informed by her fifteen-year tenure as a user experience designer for a wide range of online products. Sarah’s art explores the experience of living with technology that has been purposefully designed in ways that are imperceptible to users. Questioning the new standard of digital anxiety and addiction, Sarah’s work engages with prevailing theories of “behavioral science,” which inform the design practices of nearly all internet companies from small startups to massive conglomerates.
