Digital Art conservation | EMAP Capacity Building Workshop
Thursday December 15 2022, 14:00 – 15:30 (CET)
How do we ensure artworks that require digital technologies of the present can be appreciated by the audiences of the future? What are the responsibilities of institutions like museums, art non-profits, online organizations, collectors and the role of the artists?
The practice of conservation of digital art requires stable, ongoing collaboration involving memory institutions, open source software projects, and communities of practice. The field must jointly and strategically steward a broad range of preservation techniques, tools, and knowledge.
In this workshop for Digital Art conservation, Dragan Espenschied, Preservation Director at Rhizome, leads a collaborative workshop for institutions producing digital arts and artists in the field.
Produced by Onassis Stegi, in collaboration with Rhizome.
The European Media Art Platform (EMAP), co-funded by the Creative Europe program of the European Union, aims to support collaborative projects by emerging artists who work critically with technologies in the fields of video, digital art, robotics, bio art and other forms of media art.
