Pixel Lights – Open Call for Digital Art -for young artists from 18 to 30 years old, working with digital art [9 ΦΕΒ ΣΤΙΣ 11:30 Μ.Μ. – 14 ΦΕΒ ΣΤΙΣ 11:59 Μ.Μ.]
Pixel Lights – Digital Art Open call
The digital realm has been making a few leaps in recent years, hasn’t it? Of course it has, we weren’t really asking. But since we must have opened your appetite for a question, how about this:
What exactly does digital mean? Is it a fluid network of 0’s and 1’s, as we are accustomed to think of it? Or, rather, as the definition goes, a set of discrete, quantifiable elements that could stretch out quite a bit outside a screen?
I’m asking for a friend, of course. But my friend, you see, is more on the visual side. SHe is passionate about light and pixels, SHe wants to see your truth about the world, about what you think digital, pixels, light can mean (and become), beyond definitions.
So show us your take on what pixel and light have in common (I’d love to see too) whether it’s video, animation, photography, interactive art, 3D renderings, generative art, anything you think works on a screen (although, I admit, both me and my friend do have a soft spot for moving images). There is a great danger we might fall in love with it and if we do, we’ll include it in our upcoming group show at Digital:Canvas\, part of the opening weekend of Timișoara European Capital of Culture (February 17-19). And if we fall in love madly with it, it will also go into the award triad (our favourite 3 works will bring each of the 3 artists an award of 100 EUR).
If your age is anywhere in between 18 and 30 years-old, send us your digital artwork (full HD) or a link where we can download it, along with a photo of yourself, a short statement (really, keep it short, we expect we’ll be reading many of them and just want to know what you love doing and why) and portfolio via this email address bellow, no later than February 14 (and, of course, no later than 23:59 – Romanian Time).
