SonoSynthesis – Night Performances, δημοσίευση Ars Electronica Blog [5/1/2023]
Humans, AI and microorganisms compose together: SonoSynthesis presents a hybrid future of art at its world premiere.
When an AI-based music composition system and patterns generated by microorganisms work together to generate music, a very special audiovisual experience emerges: SonoSynthesis by the Ars Electronica Futurelab explores the co-creative process between technology, humans and nature. Enjoy the world premiere from the Night Performances on Futurelab Day of the Ars Electronica Festival 2022!
The collaborative design process between humans, an AI system and tiny microorganisms provided resulted in a composition and a visually powerful audiovisual artwork based on it. An immersive 3D experience, its world premiere filled the Deep Space 8K at the Ars Electronica Center with moving shapes, colors and sounds. Stereoscopic time-lapse videos accelerated the growth process, visual and acoustic metaphors moved the invisible moments of co-creation into the center of attention. SonoSynthesis is one of the two winning projects of the Futurlab Ideas Expedition 2022. With their three-dimensional artistic concept, Ali Nikrang, Raphael Schaumburg-Lippe and Yoko Shimizu convinced the jury of the power that lies in the connection between human creativity, artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
